folks - what email verifier is the best service? I am debating getting away from clay credits for email verification. - we discussed this a bit and I know you use Findymail and Millionverifier

The answer depends on your volume and budget tolerance, but here's what most of us are running now:

For high-volume operations, MillionVerifier is still the gold standard for pure verification. They're hitting 98%+ accuracy on deliverability checks and cost about $4 per 1,000 verifications. The API is solid, and they handle enterprise volumes without choking.

Findymail is interesting because it's doing enrichment + verification in one pass. Their verification isn't quite as tight as MillionVerifier, but if you're already using them for finding emails, the combined workflow makes sense. Pricing is higher per verification though.

A lot of teams are running hybrid stacks now. Find emails through Clay's waterfall (Apollo → Hunter → Findymail), then push everything through MillionVerifier for final verification before it hits your sender infrastructure.

The Clay credit economics are brutal if you're doing serious volume. You're paying 3-4x what dedicated verification costs, and their verification quality is inconsistent depending on which provider they route to that day.

One thing to watch: if you're running Smartlead or Instantly, both have native MillionVerifier integrations that can auto-verify during list uploads. Saves you the API work and keeps dirty emails out of your sender pools entirely.

LeadMagic is also worth testing if you want another verification option - they're newer but competitive on accuracy and pricing.

However, I wanna run this test myself sometime. I feel that especially for big companies the verification is not really working. - as I said it's super improable that junior people have an email like [email] etc. which feels like it oftentimes comes up

Hey nice! Well I mostly go from linkedin to then enrichment. Looks like findymail did well on this test clay.com

Findymail founder here. Where do you source your emails? Findymail has great verification but it's even better in enrichment. If you're looking to get an external sub with the goal of saving Clay credits, grabbing a Findymail sub will let you find emails (verification included) AND verify emails you get from other sources.

is obviously pitching his own solution here but let's just say that the claim that it "beats all verification tools" is at least debatable, at worst flat out wrong ...

Yeah just learned about this test they ran clay.com

If you want cost effectiveness you can use a cheap smtp tool like millionverifier then for any unknown or catch all statuses can run through a tool like enrichley (natively in clay). Had some agencies test against all catch all verification tools in clay and seeing minimum 5-10% more coverage and sub 2% bounce rates.
